Bridget Rian's latest studio project Nuclear Family is a captivating collection of song stories that combine elements of Alternative Pop/Rock and traditional Americana. The 6-song EP was recorded at The Smoakstack in Nashville, TN, with the help of Producer Paul Moak (Bones Owens, Caitlyn Smith, Liz Longley). Nuclear Family showcases Rian’s undeniable strength as a riveting storyteller through song, which American Songwriter Magazine cited as “touchingly beautiful” and “a testament to the power of music.” Rian's sound has evolved seamlessly from her 2021 debut, Talking To Ghosts, to her 2022 sophomore release, Screaming at the Stars, showcasing her ability to blend classic Americana nuances and ethereal vocals with indie rock and alternative pop elements.
Since her debut, Rian has gained significant support from DSPs. She has been the Featured Cover Artist for Tidal's "Rising: Folk" Playlist, included on Apple Music's "New Country" and "Acoustic Summer" Playlists, Pandora's "AMP: Fresh Cuts" Radio, and YouTube Music's New Alternative Playlist. Rian has received national press coverage with NPR, American Songwriter Magazine, and New Noise Magazine, amongst several others, and was chosen as an Official Showcasing Artist for SXSW.
Rian grew up on Long Island, NY, and began writing songs at the age of 11 when her mother gifted her a guitar for her 10th birthday. Her love for music blossomed as she was introduced to the world of alternative songwriting at a young age. Rian credits her mother's fondness for Frente!'s Marvin the Album, which she often played during car rides while Rian was just two years old, as her first steady introduction to alternative songwriting. As Rian progressed through high school, her passion for music grew stronger as she discovered inspiring female singer-songwriters such as Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Feist, Ingrid Michaelson, and Sara Bareilles. Her choir teacher played a pivotal role in encouraging her love for music by introducing her to these artists. “In high school, my choir teacher pulled me aside and showed me badass women singer-songwriters. That was it my life was changed and that’s when I started to develop my musical taste and become addicted to songwriting,” says Rian. Rian's journey as a songwriter was born from this inspiration and her love for music.
Rian currently resides in Nashville, TN where she continues to write, perform, and release new music. Follow @bridget_rian on Instagram and visit www.bridgetrian.com for the latest updates and info.
